Pony Pitching Rules:
Pitching rules for Pony League are based on GHSA Sub Varsity rules.

The manager must remove the pitcher when said pitcher reaches the limit of 90 pitches.

If a player pitches 1-24 pitches in a day, no (0) calendar day of rest is required.
If a player pitches 25-44 pitches in a day, one (1) calendar days of rest must be observed.
If a player pitches 45-64 pitches in a day, two (2) calendar days of rest must be observed.
If a player pitches 65-90 pitches in a day, three (3) calendar days of rest must be observed.

A pitcher, once removed from the mound, cannot return as a pitcher in the same game.

These limits are put in place for the safety of the child. Violation of the pitch count rules will result:
1st Offense results in maximum 1 game suspension for the Manager
2nd Offense results in maximum suspension of the Manager for remainder of the season

Pitching Warm Up:
8 Pitches before first inning or upon new entry to game. 5 pitches all others.

Courtesy runners can be used for the pitcher or catcher for the next defensive inning at any time.  The player making the last out before the pitcher/catcher reached base should be the courtesy runner.  Courtesy runners are voluntary; the offensive coaches option.

The offensive coach can call a maximum of one timeout per batter.

Head first sliding for runners wearing helmets with full cage face masks is not allowed when advancing to a base or home plate. The runner shall be called out.  Head first sliding is allowed when returning to a base.  Head first sliding is OK for runners wearing helmets with no facemasks or a C Flap when advancing or returning to a base.

Fake Bunt/Swing Rule:
A fake bunt and then Swing is NOT ALLOWED. Penalty for a fake bunt and then swing will result in an OUT and runners returning to their previous position.

Any action by a batter or a runner that results in contact or near contact with a defensive player which, in the opinion of the umpire, appears to be malicious shall result, in the batter or runner being called out and ejected from the game. Other runners will be allowed to keep bases reached at the time of such incidence but further advancement shall not be allowed on the play.
